With great foresight, the graduates of the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing began this alumni organization in 1892 to support the School and its alumni.

This organization is incorporated by the State of New York as The Columbia University — Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association, Inc. (CUPHSONAA, Inc). It is the original association, separate from the new association begun by the School in 1995.

CUPHSONAA has a long history of generously supporting the Columbia University School of Nursing through scholarships and donations of endowed chairs. The alumni, known as “Neighbors,” benefit from scholarships, research grants, awards, and sick benefits and monthly stipends that are gifts. The organization fosters collegiality among the nursing community, as exemplified by the annual reunion held every Spring.
